Mama Ernestine has seen a lot during her career in the wedding industry. She knows what she likes!
Some of her all-time wedding favorites:
Elegant with a touch of romance and modernity! A little bit of glitz and a statement
piece or color can give that awe factor.
Color Theme: Burgandy and gold! It can be pulled off in any season and at any
venue. There is something about burgundy that brings romance to life.
Macaroons. They can bring some color to the cake table and are tasty treats that
can come in multiple flavors. They are perfect for guests who are looking for something
sweet but just a bite or two.
Dancing time! Like we said before... Mama E loves to dance! This is the moment to let loose, let that stress go and have some fun. Celebrate the start of a new life together with some smooooooth moves.
Favorite part of being a coordinator:
Ernestine's favorite part of being a coordinator is taking the stress leading up to and on the day of away from the couple and their family. When her Roz got married Mama E was hardly able to take a moment to celebrate with her daughter because of how much work needed to be done. She prides herself on being able to coordinate weddings and make sure the mothers have some time to celebrate with their children and appreciate the beauty of this moment.
Her Best Advice
As a mother, Ernestine knows how important this day is for the couple and for their parents. Let yourselves and your parents be true guests at the wedding, find someone else who can take the logistics and the planning and put it into action. If your parents are super set on providing some help on the wedding do a fun activity with them like dress shopping, making some favors, or making cupcakes for the cake table. Family can be involved and still enjoy the day as guests, you want them to celebrate with you!
